Ecstasy, co-founder of legendary Brooklyn hip-hop trio Whodini, has died

John “Ecstasy” Fletcher, co-founder the early hip-hop group Whodini, has reportedly died. He was 56.
Feltcher’s death was announced Wednesday by Roots drummer Questlove, who called Fletcher a “legendary and a pivotal member of one of the most legendary groups in hip-hop.”
Whodini was the seminal Brooklyn hip-hop trio formed in 1982 behind trailblazing hits including “Freaks Come Out at Night,” “Friends,” “Five Minutes of Funk” and “The Haunted House of Rock.”
Tribe Called Quest leader Q-Tip remembered Feltcher as “one of the most under appreciated voices in hip hop.” LL Cool J added he’s “one of the most important people in this culture to me.”
