Looklyn: A green dream machine of candy disco fusion
Turns out it's not so hard being green: In this installment of our street-style series we meet Lori, who started dancing at 6 and hasn't stopped
Street style isn’t necessarily the same thing as “fashion.” It’s … more personal. It’s rooted in self, an outward expression of attitude, vibe, swag, panache, aspiration, time and place. In this semi-regular series called Looklyn, we hold a mirror up to the borough to show us how we dress now … and what it tells us about who we are.
Here, photographer Johnny Cirillo introduces us to Lori, a walking rainbow. Read more about her below.
Name: Lori Faith
Age: 20
How I identify: She/her
Occupation: Freelancer
Where I’m heading: To Manhattan
Fashion inspo: @wuzg00d, @uglyworldwide, @sausagelord and @simihaze
About the fit: All thrifted green candy disco fusion, I would like to call it. My favorite color is green, I like to put a lot of thought into my outfits and stand out, like a walking rainbow.
About me: My name is Lori, I’m 20 years old from the Bronx originally. I’ve been dancing from the age of 6, haven’t stopped since. I model and want to become an actress one day. I love fashion; it expresses who I am.
My thoughts on life: A crazy beautiful rollercoaster to the end of time. You have one life, and what matters is making the most out of it. It can be fair and also unfair, but why complain? Life is too pure to be hateful. Love yourself and what you were meant to do here in this universe.
