Check out a free screening of ‘Black Panther’ in Prospect Park this Thursday
Brooklyn Magazine has teamed up with Showtime, Prospect Park Alliance and the borough president's office for the free outdoor movie
This Thursday, take a trip to Wakanda without leaving Prospect Park.
In partnership with Brooklyn Magazine, Prospect Park Alliance and Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, Showtime is bringing movies back out into the open Brooklyn air, providing the perfect cap for a long summer. Movies Under the Stars, a monthlong series of family-friendly screenings in the Long Meadow, returns for its third installment August 19 with “Black Panther” starting at around 8:15 p.m.
Previous screenings have included “Goonies” and “Jumanji: The Next Level.” Showtime has been on hand, doling out free lawn chairs to families looking for a cozy perch on the lawn. Last week, Ample Hills scooped out hundreds of free cups of its new flavor, “Meet Me in the Long Meadow,” to movie goers. Come a little ahead of the film to secure your spot, bring a picnic and enjoy a free show.
“We are thrilled to welcome Brooklynites from across the borough back to our ‘Summer Movie Under the Stars’ event at Prospect Park,” Borough President Adams says.
The film series will conclude on Thursday, August 26, with “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.”
