A massive ‘immersive’ art venue is coming Greenpoint
An 'experiential arts venue' is opening this July in Greenpoint that includes an exhibit imported from Paris—and NFTs for sale
An “immersive and experiential arts venue” is coming to Greenpoint this July, bringing with it an exhibit imported from Paris.
ArtsDistrict Brooklyn, located at 25 Franklin St., will have three “unique experiences” that will no doubt steal the social media spotlight from those immersive Van Gogh exhibits. Visitors will “find a unique fusion of daring creativity and unmatched innovation to fuel your curiosity,” according to a website description.
The grand opening of AD/BK, as venue organizers are calling it, will feature the American premiere of “Limitless AI” by artists Ferdi and Eylul Alici of Ouchhh Studio in Istanbul, creators of the 2018 installation “Poetic AI,” which was seen by 1 million visitors at Atelier des Lumières in Paris. The exhibit will be housed in a 10,000 square-foot room and deploy “algorithms as a brush, data as paint, and the walls as its canvas” to examine the “soul and consciousness of human beings through the innovative lens of AI.” You’re going to see a lot of it on TikTok.
The other two exhibits are called “Flight” and “Séance,” which the organizers describes as “intense, immersive, audio experiences that blend theatre, technology, and 360-degree sound,” presented in “complete darkness” inside of 40-foot shipping containers.
AD/BK will also have a café, free Wi-Fi and, of course, an NFT gallery where non fungible tokens can be purchased.
Tickets will be released on May 18, but there’s already a waitlist.
