The cherry blossoms are poppin’ off, Smorgasburg is back in full swing, Faurschou New York has a warm embrace of an exhibit featuring Yoko Ono and others. It’s a spring weekend in Brooklyn, babies!

Friday kicks-off Brooklyn artist Cj Hendry’s tenth solo show “Plaid” with its own PLAIDground play space, including swings and games inspired by her work. Or you can watch your image transformed into audio waves at “Armon Naeini: Self, Resonance” on Saturday, and the Brooklyn Pop-up makers market returns to the Brooklyn Museum’s front steps for the season on Sunday.

Friday, April 14

‘Plaid’ by Cj Hendry
Various times
Brooklyn-based conceptual artist Cj Hendry’s tenth solo show, “Plaid” will present a new suite of large-scale, hyper-realistic pencil drawings in her signature style in Greenpoint this April. Her newest exhibit is a 5,000 square foot, double-height plaid-patterned, labyrinth playground called PLAIDground. Twenty-four original artworks will be displayed and guests will receive a complimentary pair of “Plaid” themed socks. 220 Newel Street. Tickets are $10.

Orthodox Easter Events
10:30 a.m.
Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Bay Ridge celebrates Orthodox Easter Weekend on Friday with the decoration of the epitaphios (a funeral cloth) at 10:30 a.m., followed by an unnailing service (an icon of Christ is taken down from the cross and wrapped in white cloth) at 2:30 p.m., and a Lamentation service at 7 p.m., when the epitaphios will be carried around the neighborhood. 8401 Ridge Blvd. Free.

Drunk Planet Earth
7 p.m.
“Mystery Science Theater meets animal documentary with drinking rules thrown in” at this comedy show hosted by Brian Morabito (Comedy Central) and Stephen Buckley (UCB). The show involves watching a nature documentary, drinking and audience participation. Stump the hosts with animal questions and they have to take a shot. Easy Lover, 790 Metropolitan Avenue. Free.

Runnin’ Late Comedy Show

Runnin’ Late is a comedy and variety show that began in L.A. and now operates out of New York and Philly. Get ready for a night that “merges West Coast fun with East Coast flare,” hosted by Cab Washington and Marcely and featuring the funniest Black and brown comics from around the country who’ve made appearances on Def Comedy Jam, HBO, Netflix, Comedy Central, and more. Loretta Lynn Birthday Show
8 to 10:30 p.m.
Brooklyn Americana Music presents: the “Loretta Lynn Birthday Show” Flood Relief Fundraiser in aid of Appalshop on Friday. Appalshop started as a film workshop in 1969, and 50 years later, they’re still documenting and revitalizing the traditions and creativity of Appalachia that commercial industries don’t tell. They’re recovering from a devastating July 2022 flood, and on Friday, host Jan Bell welcomes Queen Esther, Christian & Cole, David Russell, Olivia Ellen Lloyd, and Squiretown to the Jalopy Theatre for performances from Loretta Lynn’s songbook. Money raised will go toward repairing and relaunching Appalshop. Come early and join the bluegrass jam with Hilary Hawke at 6 pm! 315 Columbia Street. Tickets are $10 – 20.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 15 finale
8 p.m.
This is it! The final four queens on “Drag Race” season 15 will battle it out Friday night, and Brooklyn’s own Chiquitita is hosting a viewing party at C’mon Everybody. Who will get the crown? Anetra, Luxx Noir London, Sasha Colby, or Mistress Isabelle Brooks? Our money is on Sasha Colby, but find out for yourself at this lavish party in the main room. 21+. 325 Franklin Avenue. Family Discovery Days at Brooklyn Botanic Garden
10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., runs through June 11
Kids can explore habitats and learn about garden wildlife this weekend in the Discovery Garden at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. This weekend the garden kicks off its Family Discover Days where you’re invited to the garden’s meadow, woodland, and marsh habitats for hands-on exploration stations. The BBG’s teen garden apprentices and volunteer “discovery docents” will be on hand to guide you through a fun afternoon through nature. This is a drop-in program for families with children of all ages. 100 Washington Avenue. Free with Garden admission.

“Armon Naeini: Self, Resonance”
3 to 9 p.m.
This immersive experience by Brooklyn-based artist Armon Naeini explores the convergence of physical, digital, and auditory through one’s personal identity at the Center for Performance Research. Naeini’s exhibit transforms your image into audio waves and visualizes them for the viewer to integrate the tangible with the intangible. It’s a trippy experience we recommend trying for yourself. 361 Manhattan Avenue. Tickets are $12.50.

Brooklyn Jazz Hall of Fame
5 to 9 p.m.
It’s Jazz Appreciation Month, and to celebrate, the Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium has a big night of performances and presentations Saturday at Manado’s Jazz Lounge. Pianist Andre Chez Lewis (the Hall of Fame’s Young Lion awardee) and his band will perform two sets, Hall of Famer Randy Weston will be celebrated, with a presentation on the musical enterprises of George Johnson and Eric Frazier. Tickets are sold out at the time of writing, but the CBCJ promise more seats will open — so keep your eyes on their Eventbrite. 942 Atlantic Avenue.

Arden Myrin’s “Will You Accept This Rose? Live!”
Doors at 7 p.m., show at 7:30 p.m.
You won’t meet a bigger “Bachelor” superfan than Arden Myrin, so join her on Saturday at The Bell House, where she will discuss the latest episode with other obsessed celebrity guests. Topics they cover include: tears, fantasy suites, and making sweet, sweet, love on the “GREATEST COMEDY FRANCHISE OF ALL TIME,” her words, not ours. 21+. 149 7th Street (Between 2nd and 3rd Ave). Brooklyn Museum Pop-up Market
10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., every Sunday through mid-November
Brooklyn Pop-up kicks off the season this Sunday for a weekly artisan market with 30-plus vendors at Brooklyn Museum. Hosted at the museum’s front plaza, this year the pop-up expands its food offerings and will offer new activations and other initiatives to bring Brooklyn together. Oh, and there’s a DJ set every afternoon. 200 Eastern Parkway. Free.

Deep Club 10-Year Anniversary
4 p.m.
On Sunday, Public Records celebrate the 10th anniversary of Deep Club, a record label and collective that creates parties from Denver to Brooklyn. Deep Club was created in 2013 by midwestern-raised DJs devoted to American dance music. The spaces they create marry club-level sound systems with a DIY ethos to develop new forms of house and techno to share with the greater community. Come celebrate 10 years of community with musical guests Ryan Scannura, Lone Dancer, DJ Gant Johnson, and DJ Rewd. 233 Butler Street. Free.

UBUNTU Giving Circle
5 p.m.
Flatbush’s historic Kings Theatre is home to this year’s UBUNTU Giving Circle gathering of community members and philanthropists who are committed to addressing the crisis in Black maternal health. Together they generate resources for the ARIAH Foundation to fuel its mission of advocating for BIPOC people who have experienced racism and oppression in the reproductive healthcare system. This free event during Black Maternal Health Week raises awareness about the reproductive disparities and inequities that disproportionately impact BIPOC families. 1027 Flatbush Ave. Free.

Karaoke & Dinner at 333 Lounge
7 to 11 p.m.
333 Lounge will host a dinner party with “a twist of karaoke” on Sunday night. The lounge’s Chef Ceasar will serve a feast for the evening while guests sing their favorite soca, reggae, R&B, and hip-hop songs.
