Brooklyn Magazine teams up with BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! to launch ‘In the Tent’ series
An intimate behind-the-scenes conversation series kicks off with NPR's 'Tiny Desk' Producer Bobby Carter on July 1 in Prospect Park
Ever wondered what goes into making NPR’s amazing Tiny Desk series? On July 1, you can find out live and in person in Prospect Park.
In partnership with BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn!, we present “In the Tent,” a new series of 20-minute intimate conversations with different change makers in the industry, exploring the unique perspectives and inner workings of their respective musical journeys.
Get the scoop on the most famous desk in music, and how emerging artists get to play behind it in an intimate conversation between NPR’s Tiny Desk series producer Bobby Carter and Brooklyn Magazine editor Brian Braiker.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. on July 1, and the conversation will kick off at 6:30. The first 50 people to RSVP will gain free access to Member Tent 2 at the Lena Horne Bandshell for the interview and VIP seats for the evening’s show, featuring Ibrahim Maalouf, Hermanos Gutiérrez, and the incredible talent of the 2023 contest winner, Little Moon.
Future “In the Tent” evenings will include conversations with cellist and vocalist Marika Hughes, and Nabil Ayers, son of jazz-funk legend Roy Ayers.
