Declare independence from work this four-day weekend: 18 things to do

Your four-day weekend is here. If you’re not leaving town for the next 96 hours, we have some suggestions for what to do.

On Friday night, you can get sweaty at 9 Bob Note’s “Sailor Moon” rave or go Balls Deep at a disco underwear party. Too grown-up? Brooklyn Children’s Museum previews its animatronic dinosaurs for an upcoming exhibit on Saturday morning.

Tiny Desk comes to BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn!, where Brooklyn Magazine editor Brian Braiker will be interviewing the series producer Bobby Carter in advance of the show — the first 50 RSVPs will have access to the member tent for free.

There’s a daylong block party and market in Bushwick. Burrowes Brothers Bikes host a Le Tour de France viewing party on Sunday morning.

Tuesday brings Macy’s big Independence Day fireworks show with three prime viewing locations highlighted below. But that’s not the only way to see skyrockets in flight — Skyline Drive In has reserved seating, House of Yes hosts an outdoor dance party at Under the K Bridge Park, and Bar Blondeau’s rooftop viewing party should be relaxing.

Friday, June 30

Rooftop Films presents “Ramona”
Doors at 8 p.m., screening at 9 
Rooftop Films highlight a special indie gem every month under their Rooftop Selects banner, and this month they’re giving the Spanish film “Ramona” its U.S. premiere. The best part? Rooftop Members attend for free. Head over to The Old American Can Factory on Friday night to hear musician NOIA play at 8:30 before the movie starts at 9. Stick around after for a Q&A with filmmaker Andrea Bagney and an afterparty. 232 Third Street. Tickets are $19 for non-members.

‘Sailor Moon’ Rave

Enter the pink doors at 9 Bob Note on Friday and be transported to The Moon Kingdom for a “Sailor Moon” themed rave. A bunch of musicians like The Boy Diva and Eros Hedonista will spin records all night, Brittany Strange will do psychic readings, and vendors like Madison Horne Designs will be on hand too. 9 Bob Note is located inside of 3 Dollar Bill. 270 Meserole Street. Balls Deep Disco
10:30 p.m.
If you didn’t go balls deep during Pride month, do we have the party for you: Balls Deep Disco promises a night of classic, new and house disco in this swan song to Pride month/underwear party. Resident DJ Kris Steeves will have you sweating all night, boo. 325 Franklin Avenue. Tickets are $12.

Saturday, July 1

Meet the Dinosaurs!
10 a.m.
Brooklyn Children’s Museum kicks off July with a preview of its larger-than-life animatronic dinosaur installation for Jurassic Mini-Golf, opening later in July. Bring the kids to learn about paleontology, meet animals that share common ancestors with dinosaurs, and practice dinosaur yoga, whatever that is! 145 Brooklyn Avenue. Tickets start at $12.

The Block Party with Opiuo and Esseks
3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
This Bushwick block party has a full day of music, artists, performers and vendors that can fit in one block. Musicians Opiuo and Esseks headline with new performers being announced as we type. Grab your tickets before they sell out. 260 Meserole Street. Tickets start at $45.

First Saturday at Brooklyn Museum
Starting at 5 p.m.
First Saturdays are back at the Brooklyn Museum. July’s First Saturday features a glamorous lineup of fashion, music, dance, film, shopping and conversation that honors African heritage. Celebrate the opening of “Africa Fashion” and the installation “Sakimatwemtwe: A Century of Reflection on the Arts of Africa,” which marks the hundredth anniversary of a watershed exhibition of African artworks. 200 Eastern Parkway. Tradición en Transición Vol.5 Rooftop Market
5 to 10 p.m.
We’re hitting peak summer market season. On Saturday, The Sultan is hosting the rooftop market Tradición en Transición Vol.5 with vendors Lily Wen/Figure and Ground Records (pop-up record store), Niño Lento es Fuego (pop-up record store), Bulla en el Barrio merch, Chiquita Brujita, Get In Closet (thrift clothes). Jinkx Monsoon’s ‘Everything at Stake’ tour

Drag queen Jinkx Monsoon, fresh off her stint on Broadway as Mama in “Chicago” and her second first-place finish on “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” comes to Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre on Saturday night. Jinkx brings a decade’s worth of songs and infamous covers for an eclectic night of drag … at a time when quite literally everything is at stake for drag nationwide. 18+. 1027 Flatbush Avenue. Celebrate Brooklyn! Meets NPR Music’s Tiny Desk
7 p.m.
NPR Tiny Desk brings a night of esteemed musicians to Celebrate Brooklyn! on Saturday night. French-Lebanese trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf, Guitar duo Hermanos Gutiérrez, and this year’s Tiny Desk Contest winner, Little Moon, a Utah band that mixes folk, pop, and indie rock will rock the Lena Horne Bandshell in Prospect Park. Bandshell entry is first come, first served, but if you RSVP early for a conversation with Tiny Desk producer Bobby Carter ahead of the show, you can score VIP tent passes as long as tickets last. Watch Le Tour de France at Burrowes Brothers Bikes
8 to 11 a.m.
Burrowes Brothers Bikes will host a Le Tour de France watch party on Sunday morning. Get ready to immerse yourself in this legendary cycling event on their big screen. And come with an empty stomach because they will have coffee drinks, breakfast cocktails, pastries and bagels for purchase. Brooklyn Museum Pop-up Market
10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., every Sunday through mid-Novemberx
Brooklyn Pop-up meets every Sunday for a weekly artisan market with 30-plus vendors at Brooklyn Museum. Hosted at the museum’s front plaza, this year the pop-up expands its food offerings and will offer new activations and other initiatives to bring Brooklyn together. 200 Eastern Parkway. Free.

The Day Party
3 p.m. Sunday and Tuesday
Head to Brooklyn Boardwalk at Coney Island for The Day Party to hear icons perform live including Ashanti, Ja Rule, DJs Funk Flex and Nick Scalici as well as Kehlani. The two big outdoor concerts will go down on July 2 and 4. Sunday’s lineup boasts the LitDigital DJ’s Fest, with headliners Ashanti, Ja Rule and Tina (HoodCelebrityy) with sets by Funk Flex and Nick Scalici. Come back on Tuesday, July 4, for Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum artist Kehlani is set to make her Coney Island debut with sets by Noodles, Big Reef, First Choice and Rod. Tickets start at $45 on Sunday and $55 on Tuesday.

Independence Day fireworks viewing locations
It’s fireworks season — you know, from roughly July 1 to early September, when nightly sky-booms terrorize our pets. Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks announced Newtown Barge Park, Transmitter Park and Marsha P. Johnson State Park as your best viewing locations in the borough for the show. Look to the sky or catch the show live on NBC or Peacock at 9 p.m.

NYCRUNS Firecracker 5K and 10K
8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Lace up your trainers and hop on the ferry to Governors Island bright and early on Tuesday for a holiday 5K and 10K hosted by NYCRUNS. Your registration includes a fer­ry ride, entry to the race, a tech tank, and post-race eats. Fun July 4th fact: Gov­er­nors Island was occupied by both English and American militaries during the Revolutionary War. History! Runners meet at Colonels Row.

Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest
11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Coney Island’s famous wieners take center stage on July 4 for Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest. Join the crowd of 35,000-plus who gather on the corner of Surf and Stillwell Avenues to watch a few brave souls suck down Brooklyn’s favorite glizzies. Catch it in person or on ESPN. 1310 Surf Avenue.

Watch the fireworks from Skyline Drive In
2 p.m
The nation’s favorite pandemic pastime, drive-in movies, is alive and kicking in Greenpoint. Skyline Drive In invites you to spend July 4 on the waterfront for a seats-only (leave your car at home) day of revelry with food and snacks, and both alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks available for purchase on-site. Grab your seat early for the fireworks at 9 p.m., and stick around for a screening of “Back to the Future.” Tickets start at $22.

Celebrate the 4th of July with House of Yes
3 to 11 p.m.
Stray from the beaten path this 4th with House of Year and their outdoor dance party. Celebrate our nation’s 247th birthday with fabulous food, installations, lounge, and dance party. The venue Under the K Bridge Park has city skyline views perfect to watch the fireworks pop off with all your friends. 546 Gardner Avenue. Tickets are going fast.

Independence Day Rooftop Party
6 to 10 p.m.
Bar Blondeau is throwing an Independence Day party with Wythe Hotel on Tuesday. Bar Blondeau boasts panoramic views of the East River, where the fireworks will be displayed, so if you’re looking for a stress-free evening on the 4th, this might be your best ticket. Enjoy an open bar including beers from Talea, the Williamsburg brewery located a few blocks from the hotel. Nibble on summer classics with a twist like au poivre sliders, merguez hot dogs, Japanese fried chicken, corn on the cob with cilantro mayo and cotija, and yes, there will be music. 80 Wythe Ave 6th Floor.
