The weather report for this weekend looks wet and humid, but don’t let that keep you inside.
The final weekend of the Giglio Festival kicks off on Friday, and starting bright and early on Friday morning, you can catch the Wimbledon finals all weekend at Brooklyn Bridge Park. On Saturday, the FAD Market pop-up comes to Governor’s Island for its monthly gathering, and the iconic house music party Battle Hymn comes to Coney Island for a day of music and vibes.
The Brooklyn Cyclones will donate all proceeds from their game on Sunday to the Brooklyn chapter of Dream Factory, a non-profit that fulfills the wishes of children with critical and chronic illnesses. Oh, and don’t miss local legends dead prez, th1rt3en, and Large Professor’s DJ set at Von King Park on Sunday evening.

Final Weekend of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Feast and Giglio Lift

Williamsburg celebrates over 100 years of the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel this weekend. When early Nolani immigrants moved to Brooklyn, they brought the feast along, and this year the party goes through Sunday. Insider tip: Visit on Saturday for the old-timers Giglio dance to witness the Dance of the Giglio and Boat at 275 N8th Street.

Celebrate Bastille Day at Fandi Mata

Fandi Mata is bringing together those celebrating the national French holiday on Friday for an afternoon filled with French bites, cocktails and a game of pétanque (French bocce, more or less). The event includes live music from the two-piece French band Francois Wiss & Daniel Villeneuve. Nick Hakim brings his soulful crooning to SummerStage this Friday for a free concert at Von King Park. Hakim’s headline show in Bed-Stuy includes June McDoom, a Bronx local and experimental folk singer, and Evan Wright, who brings country-tinged indie psychedelia. A Night At Niblo’s Garden

Green-Wood Cemetery’s popular Victorian extravaganza is back for an enchanted evening of nineteenth-century showmanship. Staged under a starry summer sky around Crescent Water, you’ll experience fire eaters, musicians, contortionists, dancers and lots of surprises from Bindlestiff Family Cirkus. One of Brooklyn’s more unique events of the summer. 500 25th Street. General admission tickets are $45, $40 for members, and grandstand seating is $75.
Princess Party, a disco dance party

San Francisco’s Princess Party brings their show to Brooklyn on Friday night. Starring “Drag Race” winner Yvie Oddly, over 30 performers will light up the night into early morning hours at 3 Dollar Bill. FAD Market pop-up on Governors Island

Hop on a Brooklyn ferry the third weekend of each month this summer for FAD Market’s pop-up to get your fix of fashion, art and design on Governors Island. More than 35 makers, designers, artists and small businesses will be on hand to sell handcrafted apparel, jewelry, food and more. The pop-up’s other summer dates are August 19 and 20, and September 16 and 17.
RollerWave: Every Kid’s Birthday

The RollerWave skating rink hosts “Every Kid’s Birthday” on Saturday, and it’s open to all kids with free admission. This event caters to families who are less fortunate and unable to celebrate or even attend the rink on a normal day. Battle Hymn goes to Coney Island

Calling all beach bums, thrill seekers and house heads: New York’s iconic party Battle Hymn heads to Coney Island for a beach bash on Saturday. Park Slope’s Puppetworks was founded in 1980, and on Sunday, you and the kiddos can see their summer show “The Jungle Book” performed with marionettes. Dream Factory of Brooklyn at the Brooklyn Cyclones

All proceeds from ticket sales to the Brooklyn Cyclones game on Sunday afternoon will be donated to the Dream Factory’s Brooklyn Chapter. The Dream Factory is the largest wish-granting organization in the United States for children 3 to 18 who have been diagnosed with critical or chronic illnesses.
