Run the Jewels is asking for fans to help design a custom beer can
In a 'match made in Brooklyn,' the group is asking for art submissions to adorn cans of '36” Chain' by Brooklyn Brewery
Hip hop duo Run the Jewels is partnering with Brooklyn Brewery for a custom brew and they want your help.
In what the brewery is calling a “match made in Brooklyn,” the band is asking for art submissions to adorn the cans of “36” Chain,” the custom beer named after their 2013 song. The beer will be served this summer at their five-show run at Madison Square Garden and throughout the city this summer.
“Flex your creativity and unique style in your design—show us something that doesn’t look like everything else in the beer aisle,” they asked. “We want to see the vibrant, gritty, hyped-up energy of Run the Jewels and Brooklyn Brewery through your eyes!”
Only one winning design will appear on the cans, which will be chosen by Killer Mike and El-P. But other submissions that they like could win prizes including Run the Jewels merch, a VIP tour of Brooklyn Brewery or cold hard cash. Submissions must be entered by April 6 on their website.
We’re honored to announce that we’ve teamed up with the mighty @brooklynbrewery on a beer worthy of our 5-show run at MSG with @RATM this Aug. To get the party really started, we’re launching a design contest to challenge the most creative jewel runners… link below for deets pic.twitter.com/597HY7mqDS

“We couldn’t be more excited about our new collaboration with the good people at Brooklyn Brewery,” El-P said. “From the moment we talked to them it was clear that they truly care about what they are doing and they really get where we are coming from. This one is going to be special.”
A portion of the “36” Chain” beer sales will be given to the Red Hook Art Project, a community program that helps about lower income kids free visual art and music lessons after school, homework help and stress management techniques.
