Smorgasburg is expanding to (where else?) Miami
The open-air food market is opening a new outpost near hip Wynwood Walls, marking its latest expansion outside of New York
Smorgasburg is the latest New York institution to set up shop in Miami.
The open-air food market is opening in the Bushwick-of-Miami neighborhood Wynwood this weekend, marking Smorgasburg’s latest expansion outside of New York.
Roughly 90 percent of the 60 vendors will be local to Miami and will feature a lot of same things that Smorgasburg fans are used to, including fancy sandwiches, grilled meat and souvenirs. Open only on Saturdays, Smorgasburg Miami will also have live music and be pet-friendly.
Wynwood, which is best known for its graffiti-filled walls, was chosen because it “feels like the most New York part of Miami,” Smorgasburg Miami’s Gaston Becherano told the Miami Herald. “We look for the best local chefs creating new concepts to come to Smorgasburg to showcase their talents.”
In New York, Smorgasburg will be emerging from its winter hibernation pretty soon, with its Prospect Park, World Trade Center and Jersey City locations reopening the first weekend of April.
A re-opening date for Williamsburg has yet to be announced.
