Sixpoint Brewery is opening its first-ever taproom, which will be located in Downtown Brooklyn.
The Red Hook-based craft brewery recently broke the news on Instagram, writing that it’s “absolutely thrilled to announce” that the location will be located at City Point with plans to open “several” more across New York City. An opening date wasn’t revealed, but the company said “this summer.”

Renderings of the taproom show a funky design that has become recognizable from the brewery’s cans. There will be plenty of seating to hang out at, taproom-exclusive beers, wood-fired grill and even a craft cocktail menu.
Sixpoint launched in 2004, when Brooklyn resident Shane Welch opened a “brewery” in his Red Hook garage. That idea has grown into one of the city’s most recognizable and popular beers in New York. They now make eight canned beers year round, with dozens more limited releases spread throughout the year.
