Sushi on Me, a rowdy, all-you-can-drink, omakase spot is coming to Willamsburg
Its original Jackson Heights location has garnered fans for its rather unique dining experience
Have you ever been eating at a quiet, civilized sushi restaurant only to find yourself wishing for sparklers, thumping music and tons of shots?
Sushi on Me, a rowdy omakase spot in Queens, is opening a new location in Williamsburg to make those dreams come true. The restaurant has garnered tons of fans for its $89 “sake-fueled” tasting menu since its 2021 opening. With its move to Brooklyn comes a higher price tag, but more food and an expanded Thai-Japanese menu, according to Eater.
When it opens in October, diners will get a $129 18-course tasting menu (cash only) with unlimited sake, tons of sushi and a dessert for a 90-minute seating, half an hour longer than its Jackson Heights counterpart. The soundtrack will focus more on oldies over EDM.
The Williamsburg location will also have a backyard for after-dinner libations. “It’s for the people who don’t want to go home and want to drink and enjoy their friends,” owner Atip “Palm” Tangjantuk told Eater. “You get fucked up over there.”
A peek at its Instagram reveals creative cocktails and lots of dancing. Four dinnertime seatings will be available at 5, 6:45, 8:30 and 10:15 when the spot eventually opens.
