‘Tis the year to holiday shop locally
A probably incomplete roundup of local holiday markets to get you started on your shopping
It would be an understatement to say local businesses have been brutalized by this year. So as you plan your holiday gift giving, if you’ve got the budget, consider shopping local.
Brooklyn holiday markets are open for business and this weekend can’t come soon enough (for more reasons than one). For many small businesses this holiday season could be make-or-break.
Here’s a most-likely-incomplete roundup of where you can hit the pavement for stocking stuffers or goodies to scatter ’round the Hanukkah bush:
Bed-Stuy Gateway BID Winter Wonderland
Marcy Plaza, across from Restoration Plaza on Fulton Street.
Socially distant Santa pics, Covid testing, gift wrapping and Christmas movies at dusk.
Every weekend through Dec. 20, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Brooklyn Flea DUMBO
Manhattan Bridge Archway, 80 Pearl St.
An outdoor marketplace of more than 40 local vendors
Runs every Saturday through Dec. 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Brooklyn Navy Yard
Shop from the comfort of your own home!
Made at the Yard has gone online and you can too: Support local, shop virtual
CaribBeing Holiday Market
LeFrak Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park

Church & Flatbush Holiday Market
Church Ave. & Flatbush Ave.
