Guitar string maker D’Addario will move to Downtown Brooklyn
The musical accessories manufacturer recently signed a ten year lease in the Pioneer Building at 41 Flatbush Avenue

Downtown Brooklyn is about to get plucked. Last week, guitar string manufacturer D’Addario announced it will move from its current Crown Heights location on Dean Street to a new, 3650 square foot office space in the second quarter of 2021.
The addition of D’Addario represents something of an extension of the musical tradition of the Pioneer building, which is home to other audio giants, including Spotify and its subsidiary podcast company Gimlet Media.
The move was announced by commercial real estate firm Quinlan Development Group, which bought the Pioneer building in 2015 when it was used exclusively for storage. Quinlan upgraded the building into an office space with a $35 million capital investment program.
D’Addario was originally founded in 1973 in Long Island, where it currently holds its world headquarters. The company offers a variety of musical accessories, but primarily specializes in string production.
The new location offers increased convenience for D’Addario customers, with the Nevins Street, Atlantic Ave, Fulton Street, Holy-Schermerhorn Street, and Lafayette Avenue stations all within a three minute walking distance.
With D’Addario’s move, Brooklyn’s music community will soon be able to get new toys downtown with unprecedented ease. Maybe some day, they will have places to play live, too.
