Brooklyn Tweets of the Week: Farewell to DMX, hello Hot NYC Summer
A roundup of (some of) our favorite locally sourced tweets
The week ended on surprising (and perhaps unsurprisingly confusing) announcement by Mayor Bill de Blasio that the city will fully reopen on July 1. Not to be outdone, Gov. Andrew Cuomo retorted that he’d like to see it happen even sooner! (And then in the next breath: it’s too hard to make predictions.)

That was just the end of the week. Brooklyn kicked things off last Saturday with an epic, iconic farewell to rapper DMX that included motorcycles, monster trucks and (as you’ll see below) one hell of a cold-blooded tribute.

Also this week, we learned how Brooklynites are easing into summer, and why you should always design your own piñatas.
Now it’s your turn: When you see something, say something, tag us and flag us.

I am so excited for Brooklyn this summer after a year inside. Just saw a guy who was somehow dressed exactly like both Jack Sparrow and Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Everybody has lost the thread, I love it.

I love being back in Brooklyn, overhearing a cell phone conversation that begins “YO YOU PIECE A SHIT WHAT HAPPENED” and realizing this gentleman is congraulating his friend on having a baby since they’ve last spoken
