Brooklyn Tweets of the Week: Commuting chaos and a fungus among us
A roundup of (some of) our favorite locally sourced tweets for the week ending October 22
If there’s a theme to this week’s hand curated bespoke Brooklyn tweets it’s this: Getting around the borough is its own sub-genre of Twitter. From long distance (er, cross-Brooklyn) relationships to biking around to just plain riding the G train, there was no shortage of travel Twitterfreude.
And, apparently mushrooms! We’re also admiring some beautiful sprouting maitake, to be precise. We’re just not about to eat it, you know?
If you see something, say something: Be sure to tag us if you see anything that should be noted next week. Have a great weekend!
My first year in NYC, I raced my friend from Park Slope to Williamsburg. I took the 2/3 to the L, and he took the G.
I won. https://t.co/VG8aiRHdEz

Gorgeous maitake at the base of this oak tree in Maria Hernandez park in Bushwick.
Would be tempted to take this home and cook it up if it wasn’t at perfect dog pee height lol pic.twitter.com/788JSQyam2

I called my wine store to ask if I could put a bottle of non-alcoholic wine on hold to ick up later and the person on the phone was like “I don’t want to be rude but trust me you don’t need to, you are the only person in brooklyn coming in here to buy non-alcoholic wine” 💀

There’s this guy in Park Slope I love called Prints Charming who fusses over your piece, charges you a pretty penny for what must be just a few dollars in materials cost and you are always like thank you

I lost my grandmother earlier this week, and have been looking through all the scrapbooks she left me. Here’s a picture of the Park Slope brownstone my father lived in during the 80s, and the same building in present day. It’s incredible how little these houses change pic.twitter.com/YjNjngs1DP
