Brooklyn tweets of the week: Don’t mess with Fauci edition
Bensonhurst's own stands his ground, plus the Nets crush the Bulls ... and the Brooklyn Bridge is on Grindr?
Every week we here at Brooklyn Magazine read the entire internet in order to curate (some of) our favorite tweets from the previous seven days. These are locally sourced, hand-crafted, organically grown, free range nuggets of wisdom and jest.
This week, native son Anthony Fauci holds his own in true Bensonhurst fashion. Also, Sunset Park teachers stand in solidarity and a bit of background about the Free Black Women’s Library, which has new home in Bed-Stuy.
Plus jokes about Bushwick, obviously. Enjoy some sad deli meat and have a great weekend—here are a few things for you to check out if you’re so inclined.
Dr. Fauci grew up in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. He captained his high school basketball team even though he was only 5‘7“ tall. He graduated first in his class from Cornell medical school. He doesn’t take shit from anybody.

How is it 2022 and there still isn’t a separate Twitter for only New York City residents to talk about bodegas, Bushwick, and repertory cinemas? Let’s get on this!

I love how 80% of articles are just like “purple is a color, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed” or “people in Bushwick like to smoke cigarettes” .. I genuinely love it… it brings me comfort in an uncertain world

A guy I used to see ran into me tonight on a street in Bushwick. I was eating prosciutto out of a plastic bag while wearing sweats and an oversized trench coat.
2022 we single and eating deli meat alone.

My DMs used to be people telling me I’m hot. Now they’re full of “What’s going in Century 21?”
