All the Brooklyn things you can do during the city’s ‘Winter Outing’ event

As the darkest days of winter descend, the idea of doing nothing for another weekend is making us crazy.

Well we’re in luck and so are you. “NYC Winter Outing” begins Tuesday and lasts through February 13. The citywide event describes itself as a “bundle of offers to get you off the couch and living it up at attractions, restaurants, hotels and Broadway shows.” You know, spend that money!

Brooklyn isn’t participating in the Broadway Week for obvious reasons, but there are plenty of restaurants in the better borough that are offering deals, a few must-see events and several hotels selling discounted rooms for a staycation.

Eat something
Last week, Brooklyn Magazine listed for you the 49 restaurants participating in the month-long Restaurant Week (you’re welcome). Participating places offer a two-course lunch for $29 and a three-course dinner for $39. Some eateries also sell a pricier $59 dinner if you want to splurge. Here’s the full list.

Do something
There are five Brooklyn-based activities being offered for Must-See Week, a collection of things that offers two-for-one tickets.

• Beat the Bomb in Dumbo describes itself as the “world’s first immersive video game company, and the creator of an innovative live digital gaming experience that ends with players confronting a giant paint bomb.” Players put on a hazmat suit and collaborate to work through five game rooms for the one-hour activity that frankly sounds exhausting.
• Inside Out Tours offers a variety of guided tours across Brooklyn. One notable tour is a 2.5-hour walk of the Brooklyn Bridge and Dumbo for your fill of fresh air.
• Untapped Tour is selling a two-hour tour of Brooklyn Bridge filled with facts that will hopefully come in handy for your next bar trivia outing.
• Like a Local tours is similar to Inside Out, however there’s a food-focused tour in Williamsburg and a design tour of Industry City. Tickets start at $56.
• BKLYN Comedy Club in Williamsburg is selling two-for-one tickets to most shows if you prefer to remain seated.

Stay somewhere
Does it feel like the walls are closing in on you? Hotel deals are here to rescue you with 22 percent off nightly rates at some of the borough’s trendiest places. Prices vary depending on the night, with weekends costing a bit more.

• Ace Hotel Brooklyn, which recently opened and has one of our favorite lobby bars, has rates from $140.
• Hotel RL Brooklyn claims to be Bed-Stuy’s first boutique hotel. Rates start from $77.
• Nu Hotel in downtown Brooklyn has rates from $108.
• The Williamsburg Hotel has rates starting as low as $135 per night.

Major chains, including the Hilton Brooklyn in downtown Brooklyn, Holiday Inn Express in Gowanus, the Marriott near Brooklyn Bridge and the Wyndham Garden in Sunset Park are also discounted.
