Brooklyn man celebrates his NY1 obsession with a tattoo of its logo
Look, we stan Weather on the 1s and Cheryl Wills too, but we won't be going this far
Spectrum News NY1, the trusty old 24-hour local cable news channel, is such an institution that it has prompted one Brooklyn man to get a tattoo of its logo.
Self-described superfan Dan Monaco has been devotee of Pat Kiernan and company since high school, so adding a NY1 logo to his other New York-themed tats was “icing on the cake.” He told (who else?) NY1 that to complete the “whole New York vibe” he needed the channel’s logo on his right arm.
And to prove his fan bona fides for the 30-year old channel, Monaco got the “old school” NY1 logo that it used when it first launched in the early 1990s. That earned praise from anchor Jamie Stelter on Monday morning, who said she “totally respects” the not-at-all-stalkery move. Kiernan was (luckily?) off, so no word yet on what he thinks.
How much do you love NY1?

The Brooklyn native is a building superintendent and runs the “All Day” account on Instagram and TikTok, which chronicles daily life in the city. The NY1 tat joins his other New York ink, including the Brooklyn Bridge, a New York Yankees logo and a Mister Softee truck.
We noticed that there’s still plenty of space on his arms for a Brooklyn Magazine logo if he remains inspired after this.
