Tweets of the week: ‘Suburbia was a huge mistake’
Plus, a proposal for a 'People's Republic of Flatbushwick-Stuy'
Every week we at Brooklyn Magazine read the entire internet in order to curate (some of) our favorite tweets from the previous seven days. These are locally sourced, hand-crafted, organically grown, free range nuggets of wisdom and jest for the week ending June 10.
This week, a tale of not just two cities. Kings County contains multitudes. Here are our favorite tweets from the past week, in no particular order.

All of my suggested stories in the NYT app’s “For You” tab are those stories about how some couple only has $2 million to spend! but they really want a brownstone! in Park Slope!
Not sure if the recommendation algorithm is working properly

just strolled up Nostrand and Tompkins and down again into Crown Heights … suburbia was a huge mistake. a hundred million more Americans should live like this.

Has anybody honestly ever looked more like they live in Bushwick and quit their job as a producer at a video game company so they could rate bagels across NYC as some weird NFT project? pic.twitter.com/o6xcuSq1Kb

bushwick dating app bios are all like “i’m insane. i’m fucking crazy. i am so dangerous. i am begging you, for your own sake, stay away. i am filled with malice. i might kill you. follow me on instagram.” and the pictures are all cigarettes and kubrick stare forehead selfies

who’s down to form the people’s republic of flatbushwick-stuy. no we will not be including williamsburg nor greenpoint! they gentrified in the uncool upwardly mobile startup/wall street grad of an elite uni way, not the cool withered & disillusioned downwardly mobile failson way

Bedstuy Or Die. When I pulled up last summer a dude was ice glaring me. I thought it was a problem. I approached him after 30 minutes. His reply was “Did you play biddy ball at 305 park on Throop ave? Did you have a white alcoholic coach named a Murray?”. He was 1000 % correct. pic.twitter.com/t6C5gaGxCS
