Tweets of the week: Spotting rats, respecting bees and hoarding Sriracha
Also: Phoebe Bridgers rocks the park, the mayor gets booed at Pride and the Puerto Rican Day Parade brings the vibes
Every week we at Brooklyn Magazine read the entire internet in order to curate (some of) our favorite tweets from the previous seven days. These are locally sourced, hand-crafted, organically grown, free range nuggets of wisdom and jest for the week ending June 17.
It’s been a week. And that’s all we’ll say about that. Enjoy these tweets you twittered over the past seven days. Keep ’em coming.
I’m going for an hour’s nighttime walk through Greenpoint and Williamsburg.

The Sunset Park #PuertoRicanDayParade in Brooklyn just finished. People are now chilling in the park. Lots of pro-independence folks took part. Lots of flags, music, dancing, & calls for the independence of Puerto Rico & an end to colonialism. I’ll post more pics & videos later. pic.twitter.com/gNUR9sggwR

getting ready to take my kids to Brooklyn Pride and wishing a very hearty FUCK YOU to everyone who thinks that’s problematic. If my parents had taken me to Pride as a small child it likely would’ve saved me years of mental and emotional anguish. no punchline, just truth 🌈💖

Last week I worked late at the office and was exhausted and thought I’d luxuriously take a Lyft home as a treat. Here’s what Lyft quoted me for a 30-min ride from midtown to Bed-Stuy, 10:45pm on a Wednesday https://t.co/Zc5THB1Aq4 pic.twitter.com/TragJ1W3gB
