Tweets of the Week: CroHo versus the Park Slope Cinematic Universe
Also this week: Gayle King ate at Cheryl's, Antonio Reynoso salsa danced and at least one grandma went AWOL in a Bushwick dive
Every week we at Brooklyn Magazine read the entire internet in order to curate (some of) our favorite tweets from the previous seven days. These are locally sourced, organically grown, free range nuggets of wisdom and jest for the week ending July 29.
Brooklyn was out this past week. Gayle King dined at Cheryl’s Global Soul. Our borough president and congresswoman did a little salsa twirl to “Periquito Pin Pin.” Writer Maris Kreizman spotted a $26 omelette in the wild. But if that’s too rich for your blood, there was also a found pizza crust and sushi party.
There are lots of ways to go out in the borough: Take your grandma to a Bushwick dive! Get transcendent at the Bed-Stuy Home Depot. But however you choose to do it, let’s all agree to stay clear of The Monkeypox bar.

My small Earl Grey tea in BAY RIDGE (and not upper Bay Ridge, deep Bay Ridge, Third Avenue in the 80s by @JustinBrannan’s office) was $4.36. Horrified, shocked, disgusted. Don’t text.

Bushwick is wild because I just met a dude named Vengeance and everyone is acting like that’s a regular ass name.

Looks like there's a Jewish haunted house opening in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Can't wait to bring the kids!#HouseofGlatt pic.twitter.com/4aiQ5311Ev

My friend and I jokingly started calling crown heights CroHo last year and I just saw that phrase in an article — I just know karmic retribution is coming my way

There's a special place in our hearts for old Brooklyn bars. The Hudson Tavern, Restaurant, Bar & Grill was located at 283 Hudson Avenue in Fort Greene. This photo was taken in 1939, when it was possibly already closed, but we think it still looks like a good time!
