A new, massive outdoor holiday market is coming to Brooklyn Borough Hall
Because it's never too early to think about holiday shopping
It’s not even Labor Day yet, but some people already have their sites set on holiday shopping: Urbanspace, which operates the always crowded holiday markets and food halls in Union Square and Bryant Park, is crossing the river for the first time this winter and opening a new market in Brooklyn Borough Hall.
It will open on November 28 and last through December 26. Applications are now open for vendors with more than 100 spaces available.
Urbanspace said in its announcement last week that it’s looking for Brooklyn-based and minority-owned artisans, food and beverage operators, vintage and antique collectors so it can “curate a Brooklyn-centric market mix.” The venture is supported by the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, Brooklyn Heights Association, and the Montague BID.
City Council Member Lincoln Restler praised its arrival in a statement. “The new Urbanspace holiday market at Borough Hall is a great example of how we can activate underutilized public space and create opportunities for a diverse cross-section of small businesses from around the borough to reach new customer bases,” he said.
