Brooklyn has 3 of the 5 best subway stations in the city, straphangers say
The 'highest rated subway station' among some 220,000 riders is the 2/3 Eastern Parkway-Brooklyn Museum stop, says the MTA
Here’s another reason why Brooklyn is superior to everywhere else: We have some of the best subway stations in the city.
Although the bar is admittedly low, the results from a recently released MTA Customer Satisfaction and Travel Survey show that Brooklyn has three of the top five highest-rated subway stations.
Drumroll please: The top-rated station at 92 percent is the 2/3 Eastern Parkway-Brooklyn Museum station, earning high marks for its cleanliness. The Wilson Avenue L stop in Bushwick came in second at 88 percent and the Beverley Road Q stop checked in at fifth place with 85 percent, both earning praise for their cleanliness.
While our subways ranked high, the same can’t be said for the buses. Two of the five worst routes snake through here, with wait time and reliability affecting their scores. The two worst routes in Brooklyn are the B7 through Midwood and Bedford-Stuyvesant, and the B14 in Crown Heights.
The results were tabulated from an MTA survey that asked 220,000 subway and bus riders for their opinion about the system. It also found that the L train was riders’ favorite, despite only attracting a 53 percent satisfaction rating. The G ranked a close second with a 52%.
The MTA said in a statement that yeah, there’s plenty of room to improve the public transit system.
“The customer satisfaction survey shows our customers are finding their experience using all modes of mass transit to be better overall,” MTA Acting Chief Customer Officer Shanifah Rieara said. “We will do everything we can to make our customers feel most comfortable whether they are using the subway, buses, and the commuter rails.”
