Myrtle Avenue is bringing back its ‘wildly successful’ restaurant week
The nine-day event kicks off August 18 with three-course dinners priced between $20 and $40
Myrtle Avenue Restaurant Week is returning later this month, following a “wildly successful” debut last winter, organizers said.
This edition will feature 11 locally owned restaurants (up from nine), between August 18 and 27, offering dinners ranging from $20 to $40 depending on the establishment. The February week was a financial success for most restaurants, according to Amanda Zenteno, executive director of Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership.
“Our first event saw a record number of diners and contributed to a 30 to 70 percent increase in sales at participating locations,” she tells Brooklyn Magazine. “The overwhelming success saw new customers become regulars, new menu items become a permanent addition, and locations like Glin Thai Bistro create a vibrant updated storefront.”
Zenteno says that restaurant week is a “must attend for food lovers and directly contributes to the growth and success of our community.” Seven restaurants saw sales increase up to 30 percent, she says, and another two saw sales increase 70 percent.
Here are the participating eateries later this month, with all but one restaurant returning and three new ones — Mint Heights, Myrtle Thai and Yamashiro — joining in.
